The Canadian side follows the ridge of the mountain for miles and miles. It does not descend into the valley until just before the road gets to the Yukon River. It's dirt, but that seems like a better way to deal with the varying conditions and it was a much smoother ride than the paved frost heaves in Alaska.
A few sections still have snow!
