Stewart Estuary Boardwalk

This long boardwalk extends over the estuary between the tiny town of Stewart and the deep water port at the end of the Portland Canal (a fjord, not a canal). The town ended up here because of the port and the small gold rush in the late 1800s. Now there is some mining along the Cassiar, but the port it is mostly used for exporting lumber. The estuary was a great place to walk after dinner (at one of the two restaurants in town) and ice cream (at the only bakery/ coffee shop).
