The river freezes in the winter and becomes an ice road. This is the spot that they call the "ice bridge". It allows for a river crossing and saves several miles of driving around to get from one side of Fairbanks to the other.
This is the sledding hill.
In the summer it's a splash landing, but when the river is frozen it's a perfect run out!
