A throwback from the gold rush era, the saloon was the perfect spot for dinner. We learned so much while we were there. Not only is it a historic spot, but they are also known for the Sourtoe Cocktail. It's a shot of whiskey with an added twist- a dehydrated toe. There is a Toe Captain to add the toe to your shot and you get a certificate if you "join the club". We did not partake (we prefer our beverages toe-free) but the nice French gentlemen sitting next to us did. They said it was not bad and had the certificate to prove membership in the club (there are over 115,000 members). Check out the link if you want the story and pictures of the toe!
