It was a very rainy fourth of July in Fairbanks. They don't usually have fireworks (not dark enough) or much of a celebration. Their big festival is on the solstice. We had planned to check out the event at Pioneer Park, but the rain kept us inside. It also kept Shane grounded so no flying. While that keeps him from the mine and the work he needs to do, we were the beneficiaries as he is an amazing cook! Sam decided that it was a good day to bake a pound cake to make a red white and blue dessert. As always, it was delicious!
