Like many places on the Alaksa Highway, the bridge has been rebuilt. When it was originally constructed vehicles were smaller and trucks carried lighter and smaller loads. This bridge was taken down and recycled to build the new bridge. It opened in 2010 so on our last trip we used the old one. While the new bridges are more functional, they don't have the character of the old ones!
